Arsenal prepare major effort to sign goal machine PSG striker Edinson Cavani

Arsenal are said to be preparing a huge push to sign Paris Saint Germain striker Edinson Cavani during the January transfer window, according to the Metro.

The Uruguayan international was heavily linked with a move to The Emirates over the summer, but Arsenal allegedly pulled the plug on the move after being stunned by his astronomical price tag.

However, Spanish transfer publication Fichajes claims that Cavani is still high up on Arsenal’s list of priorities, and the club will make a renewed push to bring him to the club when the transfer window re-opens in the new year.

The report claims that though the deal may be complicated, Arsene Wenger is prepared to offer up some significant finances to push the move through and bring the player to North London.

Cavani has started the current season in fine form, bagging 11 goals in Ligue 1 so far, and at 28 Wenger would do well to pounce now as he is no doubt in the prime of his powers.
