Liverpool target exciting German U21 international to take over from ‘flapper’ Simon Mignolet

Liverpool are reportedly keeping an eye on highly-rated Cologne goalkeeper Timo Horn as a possible replacement for Simon Mignolet in the near future, according to German publication Bild.

Klopp is said to be a big admirer of the 22-year-old, and has been watching him for some time, and is now weighing up a potential offer for the player.

However, Horn is still under contract at Cologne until 2019, meaning that any deal to bring him to Anfield will likely cost the club a big transfer fee.

The Bild report claims that Horn does have a £9million release clause installed in his current deal, and though Bild claim that Liverpool of confident of getting the deal done, they stop short of confirming whether it will be completed in the new year or at the end of the season.

Horn has chalked up 45 Bundesliga appearances for Cologne since becoming a starter back in 2012, while he’s also played four matches for the German Under-21 side.
