Barcelona and Real Madrid WERE sending scouts to England game to check on Jamie Vardy

Scouts from both Real Madrid and Barcelona did have detailed scouts lined up to check on Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy before he was ruled out of England’s game with Spain in Alicante, according to the Daily Mail.

Vardy had been in line to start for Roy Hodgson’s side on Friday night, and the two Spanish giants had been hoping to see how the Premier League’s current top goalscorer in action against world class defenders.

The 28-year-old picked up a minor groin problem that has forced him out of the meeting with Spain, though he is hopeful of being fit enough to take part against France next week.

Vardy’s current deal with Leicester expires at the end of next season, and the club have already stated that they will not stand in his way if a Champions League side come in for him.
