Former Premier League manager, ex-Champions League winner wanted by three Championship clubs

Ex-Aston Villa coach Paul Lambert is reportedly in discussions with both Queens Park Rangers and Blackburn Rovers about their vacant managerial posts.

Lambert left Villa nine months ago after failing to oversee considerable improvement at Villa Park.

Sky Bet have tipped the Scottish manager to be the favourite to take over at Blackburn [as per Sky Sports], who recently parted ways with Gary Bowyer.

The former coach was axed from Ewood Park after overseeing just three victories in the Championship to date.

Similarly, QPR parted ways with Chris Ramsey after their former manager—who preceded over the Hoops’ final months in the Premier League—failed to prompt a significant upturn in fortunes.

While Neil Warnock was initially appointed as Ramsey’s successor on an interim basis, he has confirmed that he is not keen on taking the job permanently.

Lambert, who won the Champions League with Borussia Dortmund in 1997, spent the best part of three years at Villa Park, having previously guided Norwich City from League One to the Premier League.
