Earlier today a report broke claiming that Arsenal could sign Barcelona megastar Lionel Messi (via Daily Star), and understandably, it’s whipped everybody up into a frenzy.
The Star claims that Messi would be open to a move to the Premier League due to his recent troubles with the tax office before going on to claim that Messi’s “preferred option” is to move to Arsenal. However, more important than the club is the player’s wage demands of a staggering £600,000 a week.
It’s not unusual to see rumours like this spring up during the international break, thanks to the lack of regular league action, and though we cannot confirm or deny if there’s any truth in the rumour at this stage, it would appear that Arsenal fans have made their minds up already.

Messi playing for Arsenal is about as likely as me playing for Barcelona.
