Premier League strugglers Chelsea are said to be weighing up a move for Fenerbahce striker Robin van Persie as a possible replacement for Radamel Falcao, according to the Metro.

The Blues have made a disappointing start to their title defence this season, with none of their forward players making an impact as they languish in 16th place in the table.

And according to a report in Turkish publication Fotomac, Chelsea could be prepared to cut short Radamel Falcao’s loan spell early by sending him back to Monaco, and will look to replace him why making a cheeky move for former Arsenal and Man United star Van Persie.

The 32-year-old star has not enjoyed the most productive time of his career since moving to Turkey over the summer, and has since been linked with moves to Barcelona and former club Feyenoord.
