Ex-Liverpool coach offered £10 million to join Barcelona great in Qatar

Qatari side Al Sadd are understood to be keen on a move to sign Brendan Rodgers, who was sacked by Liverpool last month.

The Northern Irish coach failed to build on the fine performance he oversaw during the 2013-14 season, and after last season’s misery carried over into this season, he was duly dispatched and replaced by German coach Jurgen Klopp.

Despite losing at home to Crystal Palace, Klopp has guided Liverpool to victories over Manchester City and Chelsea, largely vindicating the club’s owners’ decision to offload Rodgers.

However, the axed boss has no shortage of suitors, and having been linked heavily with a move to Turkish giants Galatasaray, he now has new admirers in the Middle East.

According to the Express, ambitious Al Sadd see Rodgers as the kind of big-name appointment that could transform their standing in the world game.
