£35m Arsenal & Chelsea target responds to transfer rumours

Olympique de Marseille forward Michy Batshuayi has insisted that he sees his future at the club, despite increasing transfer interest from the Premier League.

EPL trio Chelsea, Arsenal and Newcastle United have been heavily linked with the Belgium international in recent weeks, although Batshuayi’s latest comments may prompt the trio to look elsewhere.

“Of course my future is here,” the striker said, speaking to Telefoot [as per Le 10 Sport]. “There is a lot of love, a magnificent stadium, magnificent supporters.

“I don’t think that things could be any better,” he continued. “Sorry, you’re going to see me here for quite a while!”

Le 10 Sport also note that Atletico Madrid, Valencia and Tottenham Hotspur are keen on the forward, but the interested six sides look set to be left frustrated.

Batshuayi has scored eight goals in 13 Ligue 1 appearances so far this season, a considerable improvement on the seven he managed in all 25 outings last term—albeit with many of those coming from the bench.

Newcastle are understood to be keen on the forward, according to the Mirror, but the tabloid also note that Marseille want £35 million for the frontman, a fee which may be beyond the Magpies’ means.

The Express noted that both Chelsea and Arsenal were keen on the young striker earlier this month, although the Gunners are believed to have cooled their interest. The Pensioners too may have to turn to other targets following the 22-year-old’s latest comments.
