Manchester United and Arsenal set for battle over Juventus wonderkid

Manchester United and Arsenal will go head-to-head for the much sought-after signature of Juventus’ wonderkid Daniele Rugani.

The Daily Mirror report that Louis Van Gaal and Arsene Wenger are both keen on the 21 year old centre back, and will try to lure him to their respective clubs in the upcoming transfer window.

He is widely considered to be one of the top prospects in the Serie A, but after a fantastic season on loan at Empoli last term he has struggled for game time so far during this campaign.

Despite not giving him first team opportunities, Juventus are adamant that they don’t want to lose their youngster, especially to clubs that they view as direct rivals for Europe’s top silverware. The article claims Napoli are also interested, and it’s possible that the Turin-based side might be willing to send him there on loan instead, thus allowing him to further his Serie A experience.

The reports quotes a source close to the player as saying “Daniele has earned the right to play first-team football. If they won’t give it to him at Juventus, it is only natural he would be enticed by offers from big European clubs”.
