Manchester City to tempt Real Madrid international away from Bernabeu

Manchester City are hoping to use the promise of first-team football to tempt Isco away from Real Madrid, according to reports.

The Mirror note on Tuesday that the Citizens are keen to add the exquisite playmaker to their ranks as Manuel Pellegrini seeks a reunion with a player he has already worked with in La Liga during their mutual time at Malaga.

Despite spending big to sign Raheem Sterling and Kevin De Bruyne during the transfer window, it seems as though Pellegrini is keen to add another creative talent to his ranks and ensure that the Citizens profit from Chelsea’s malaise to regain their EPL title.

The 23-year-old was previously close to moving to Manchester City back when Pellegrini arrived at the club, according to the Mirror, and could soon be set to make up for lost time.

According to the tabloid, the Chilean coach will attempt to use Isco’s frustration with a lack of an assured first-team spot at the Bernabeu in order to tempt him to the Etihad Stadium.

However, is there any guarantee that Isco—who was sent off after hacking Neymar in Real’s weekend El Clasico humiliation against Barcelona—would be a guaranteed starter in Manchester?

With the likes of David Silva, Jesus Navas, Samir Nasri and aforementioned pair Sterling and De Bruyne competing for attacking-midfield spots, Isco’s frustrations may continue in the Premier League, even if he is a Pellegrini favourite.
