Barcelona want Roma pair after 6-1 THRASHING; Arsenal face transfer competition for international wideman

Despite hammering AS Roma 6-1 in the Champions League on Tuesday evening, Barcelona remain interested in two Giallorossi players, according to reports in France.

The Catalonian giants were rampant as the Italian heavyweights were dissected earlier in the week. Luis Suarez scored twice—including a superb volley—while Lionel Messi returned from injury to help Barca reach new heights following their 4-0 demolition of their local rivals Real at the weekend.

Despite Roma’s dismal showing at the Nou Camp, Barca are keen on two of the Serie A side’s stars—named as Miralem Pjanic and Alessandro Florenzi according to Le 10 Sport—and may look to move for the pain in January.

However, Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini has confirmed that the club are not looking to see two of their finest assets.

“We don’t need money,” Sabiatini confirmed after the match, when asked about the prospect of two of his key men heading to Spain. “We only think about doing everything to make our team as strong as possible year on year.

“The technical aspect comes first,” he continued. “That Barca are interested in our players obviously pleases us, but they’re not for sale.”

Sabiatini’s words will not have been missed in Arsenal, with the Gunners understood to be keen on Florenzi for the right price [Football Italia].
