Louis van Gaal has confirmed that he has given injured defender Luke Shaw some time off as he struggled with the drudgery of his recovery process, The Guardian reports.
The full-back suffered a broken leg during the Champions League clash with PSV Eindhoven back in September, and has since been ruled out for the remainder of the season as he recovers from the horrific injury.
However, van Gaal is aware that he is finding his recovery routine tedious, and as PSV travel to Old Trafford on Wednesday night, he has made sure to give the 20-year-old some time away to protect him from flashbacks of the tackle.
