Liverpool are reportedly preparing a humongous £75million offer to beat arch rivals Manchester United to the signature of Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller, according to Sport Witness (via Bild).
United were heavily linked with a move for the Germany international over the summer, but failed to even enter discussions as he now continues to hold talks with the Bundesliga champions about a new deal.
However, a report in German tabloid Bild claims that Liverpool are now monitoring his situation and could look to hijack the Red Devils’ interest in the player by launching a mega money deal of their own.
However, Bayern have previously told United to stop bidding for the player, so it would be unlikely that Liverpool would receive a different outcome despite their new German connection in the form of manager Jurgen Klopp.
Muller would likely cost Liverpool a fee in the region of £75million, which is a similar number to what United were offering.
I am sorry if it sucks: The last offer from @ManUtd for @esmuellert_ to @FCBayern was 75 Million £. Remember Rummenigge: Stopp mailling, Ed!
