Liverpool striker suffers latest injury setback with foot problem

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has suffered yet another injury setback after a foot problem sustained in training ruled him out of the side’s Europa League clash with Bordeaux on Thursday night, according to the BBC.

The 26-year-old has been out of action since early October with a knee injury, and had targeted his side’s group clash with the Ligue 1 side as a possible return date (via BBC).

However, The BBC claim he was sent for a scan earlier in the day after suffering with discomfort in one of his feet, and he may now have to wait to add to the three appearances he has made so far this season.

He has only managed to make 18 appearances in the entire calendar year of 2015 (via BBC), and his only goals this term have come in the 3-2 victory over strugglers Aston Villa.

The striker has endured a difficult time with injuries in the recent past, after missing five months thanks to an injury he picked up on international duty with England, he was then knocked back by a thigh problem upon his return (via BBC).
