Arsenal injury news: Wenger admits Alexis Sanchez is rated doubtful for Norwich clash

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has confessed that both Alexis Sanchez and Joel Campbell are being rated as doubtful for this weekend’s meeting with Norwich City, according to the Daily Express.

The Express claim that both players picked up knocks during Tuesday night’s Champions League victory over Dinamo Zagreb, and that Sanchez is nursing his hamstring, while Campbell has a calf problem.

The pair will now undergo late fitness tests to determine their involvement ahead of Sunday’s trip to Carrow Road (via Express).

However, Wenger did deliver some good news on the injury front by stating that midfield duo Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Aaron Ramsey are back in contention before going on to admit that now is not the right time to rest Sanchez (via Express).

When quizzed on whether the Chilean international would be available to face the Canaries, Wenger said: “I will have to assess that a bit later.

“Spontaneously it might not be the best moment to rest Alexis but I don’t know. He had a little hamstring alarm but we will see how he recovers from that.”

The Frenchman then went on to explain that Campbell could also have trouble in making it into the match day squad through injury.

“Campbell had a little calf problem so I will assess all that Friday, latest Saturday.”
