Real Madrid target move for Liverpool full-back Alberto Moreno

Spanish giants Real Madrid are reportedly ready to launch a move for Liverpool’s Alberto Moreno after identifying him as a transfer target as they step up their search for a new left-back, according to the Metro.

The young defender has shown flashes of how good he can be since moving to Anfield last season, with Spanish publication Marca claiming that Real Madrid are admirers of his, and have been ever since his time with Sevilla.

Marcelo is currently Madrid’s first choice in the left-back slot, but the Metro claim that a series of injuries in the Real squad has caused manager Rafa Benitez to scout the market for a back up option.

However, the Metro believe Liverpool won’t be interested in letting the 23-year-old move on in the new year considering his rise in form following Jurgen Klopp’s arrival, unless they can find a capable replacement to step into his shoes.

Moreno has made a total of 17 appearances across all competitions so far this season, and has chalked up one assist (via WhoScored).
