(Video) Is this the moment Simon Mignolet sealed his Liverpool exit?

Earlier this month reports broke claiming that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp would look to replace goalkeeper Simon Mignolet during the January transfer window.

However, Mignolet’s performances this term have been a far cry from the poor showings he put on under Brendan Rodgers last season, as the Belgian international had seemingly rediscovered the form that made the club buy him from Sunderland in the first place.

But again, the rumours refused to go away and this week former Liverpool stopper Bruce Grobelaar claimed that Klopp would indeed seek to replace Mignolet at the first opportunity.

And if Klopp was debating whether to change goalkeepers, then this incident against Bordeaux last night almost certainly sealed his decision.

Everyone knows that a goalkeeper can only hang onto a ball for six seconds before being pulled up for time wasting. But Mignolet held on to it for 20 seconds, and gave away an indirect free kick from inside his own box, which Bordeaux promptly scored from.

Not good, Simon, not good!
