Arsenal eye move for in-form Leicester star Riyad Mahrez ‘in the coming weeks’

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is believed to be sizing up a move for in-form Leicester City midfielder Riyad Mahrez in the coming weeks, according to the Metro.

The 24-year-old has been one of the Premier League’s standout performers so far this term, with the Metro highlighting his seven goals and six assists in 12 games so far to help the Foxes climb to the top of the table.

And the Algerian international’s form will have put him on the wish list of a number of Premier League sides, with the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea all believed to hold a genuine interest in landing his signature (via Metro).

And according to French publication Foot365, Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is looking into the possibility of striking a deal to bring him to The Emirates as he hopes to alleviate the midfield injury crisis that is currently hitting the club.

However, the Metro reports that Mahrez only recently extended his contract with Leicester, meaning that any club hoping to prize him away from the King Power Stadium will have to pay heavily to do so.
