(Video) Henri Saivet: Tottenham among five EPL clubs monitoring the ‘new Thierry Henry’

No fewer than five Premier League sides including Tottenham Hotspur are understood to be monitoring Girondins de Bordeaux star Henri Saivet ahead of a potential January move, according to reports.

The Senegal international shone in the Europa League in midweek as he bagged a magnificent effort against Liverpool, even though he wasn’t able to help Willy Sagnol’s side avoid a 2-1 defeat.

The West African impressed with his dribbling, his movement and—as evidenced by the goal—his powerful shooting during the fixture, and may well have prompted any of the quintet of clubs represented at Anfield to make a move in the coming transfer window.

According to the Mirror, Everton, Tottenham, Aston Villa, Swansea and Bournemouth are the five sides understood to be keeping an eye on the 25-year-old, who is reportedly available for an appealing £3.5 million in January.

As a youngster, Saivet was tipped to become the ‘new Thierry Henry’ after impressing for France at youth level. However, he has since opted to represent the Lions of Teranga at senior level.
