The Capital One Cup semi-final draw has pitted Liverpool against Stoke City and Manchester City against Everton.

The semi-finals, which are two-legged affairs, will be played in January, with the first legs on the fifth and sixth of the month and the two reverse matches being played on the 26th and the 27th.

Everton host Manchester City at Goodison Park in the first match, before returning to the Etihad Stadium at the end of the month.

Liverpool must travel to Stoke City first, before welcoming Mark Hughes’s side back to Anfield for the reverse fixture.

Jurgen Klopp’s hopes of winning the competition with the Reds have been boosted following a remarkable 6-1 away victory over Southampton in the semi-final, while Manchester City may not be as confident when faced with the prospect of a testing away trip to Goodison Park in the middle of winter.

The Citizens defeated Hull City 4-1 to progress on Tuesday evening, but only truly found their rhythm in the final 10 minutes of the match, while Everton defeated Middlesbrough and Stoke City ousted Sheffield Wednesday.
