Check out the Daniel Sturridge stats below.
This handy infographic not only demonstrates how menacing and clinically effective Sturridge has been this season, when fit, it also casts his rivals Wilfried Bony, Diego Costa and Wayne Rooney—at Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United respectively—into a particularly bad light.
As noted by our sister site and Liverpool fan blog Empire of the Kop, in only five domestic outings so far this season, Sturridge has managed four goals.
Comparatively, Bony has managed a disappointing four goals in 13 games, Costa—whose frustration at Chelsea has been well documented—bagged three in 12, while Rooney has scored only three goals in 14 domestic outings.
The stats serve to explain both why none of Liverpool’s rivals are yet to truly convince this season, and why Jurgen Klopp will be desperate to keep his England international frontman fit this season.
If Sturridge can maintain this kind of ratio throughout the campaign, anything is possible for the Reds this season.
