Unlikely suitors emerge for high-profile Chelsea attacker

Galatasaray are understood to be eyeing a move for Chelsea frontman Diego Costa.

The forward shone in the Premier League last season—bagging 20 goals in 26 league games as the Blues lifted the title—but has struggled to impress so far this term.

Former Atletico Madrid hitman Costa has managed just three efforts in 11 outings in the top flight. He suffered the ignominy of being benched last weekend for the Blues’ EPL draw away at Tottenham Hotspur.

While it remains to be seen whether Costa will return to the starting XI for the west Londoners’ Premier League meeting with Bournemouth this weekend, speculation about his future has been mounting.

Over the last few days, rumours linking Paris Saint-Germain’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Stamford Bridge have intensified. The Sun reported that Mourinho sees the Swedish superstar as a viable replacement for the struggling Spaniard should the latter leave the club.

Should Costa leave Chelsea, he is unlikely to be short of options, and Fotomac [via Le 10 Sport] report that Turkish giants Galatasaray are understood to be keen on a January move for the player.

However, despite the size and history of the Istanbul heavyweights, it remains to be seen whether Costa would be willing to swap Stamford Bridge for the Super Lig only 18 months after arriving in the EPL.
