Paul Merson predictions: Arsenal to win despite injury hell, Liverpool goal flood, Chelsea to pop Cherries

All 20 teams are in action on the upcoming three-day Premier League weekend, which kicks off on Saturday afternoon when leaders Manchester City face a tough test at Stoke.

Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson is tipping Stoke to earn a point against City, but the former Arsenal midfielder is backing most of England’s other big boys to win.

Merson has gone for the injury-hit Gunners to see off Sunderland at the Emirates and for Chelsea to beat Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge. However, his score predictions – 2-0 in both games – are pretty conservative considering how leaky the away sides’ defences have been this season.

Meanwhile, Merse expects another heavy victory for Liverpool, who tore Southampton apart 6-1 in the Capital One Cup on Wednesday. A 4-0 win over Newcastle United is pencilled in for Sunday.

A 2-0 success for Manchester United against West Ham and 2-1 triumph for Tottenham, who travel to West Brom, have also been called.

Merson reckons Swansea can stop Leicester picking up three points in South Wales, where he says a draw is on the cards.

Elsewhere, Sky Sports’ whackiest pundit is going for wins for Everton, Southampton and Watford.
