Jose Mourinho given ONE WEEK to save Chelsea future

Jose Mourinho has been given ONE WEEK to turn around his “depressed” Chelsea side and define his own future, according to The Sun.

The Sun claim that an insider at the club told them that training on Sunday was “very flat” and there was little atmosphere their Cobham complex.

On Saturday The blues fell to their latest embarrassing defeat by losing at home to Bournemouth and now the report claims that the manager will be given time to pick things up against former club Porto in the Champions League on Wednesday before being tasked to get something out of surprise title contenders Leicester City on Monday.

However, midfielder enforcer Nemanja Matic admits the whole club is stuck in a rut and can’t see any signs of a way out.

“We are in a difficult situation, so it’s going to be hard to come back from this,” he said.

“But we have to try to resolve this problem, we have to try to recover.”

Following Saturday’s defeat, Mourinho was summoned by owner Roman Abramovic to an emergency board meeting to explain the performance, and was boosted by the news that he will be given funds for a new striker and defender in January.

But should results over the next week go against him, he will find himself sacked just a few months into the four-year deal he penned over the summer.
