Chelsea news: Mourinho’s future hangs by a thread as FC Porto lie in wait

In light of Chelsea’s humiliation at the hands of Bournemouth on Saturday, Jose Mourinho’s future at Stamford Bridge hangs by a thread.

The Pensioners are enduring a miserable season, and currently sit 14th in the Premier League table after 15 matches, having won only four and lost eight of their league fixtures to date. The reigning champions have amassed only 15 points, and currently sit a whopping 17 points behind leaders Leicester City.

Under-pressure Mourinho rode out the storm that followed the home defeat to Liverpool with a Champions League victory over Dynamo Kiev, a win that was influential as the Portuguese coach saved his job.

He may need to count on a European win to save his job again, with the Mirror reporting that Roman Abramovich is losing his patience following Chelsea’s eighth defeat of the season.

However, the tabloid reports that Mourinho’s future doesn’t depend on the result of the Blues midweek Champions League clash against FC Porto.
