Real Madrid and Barcelona in transfer battle for Jeison Murillo

Inter defender Jeison Murillo has reportedly attracted the interest of both Real Madrid and Barcelona with his form so far this season.

The Colombian international only arrived at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in the summer, but has gone on to impress in Roberto Mancini’s side as the Nerazzurri currently sit top of the Serie A table after 15 games.

Having signed the 23-year-old in an €8m deal after his performances at the Copa America, Inter will hope to hold on to the talented youngster rather than sell, but their resolve is expected to be tested by the Spanish giants, as reported by Football Italia.

According to reports in the Italian media, Inter could be willing to negotiate if they receive an offer of around €30m, which in turn shows how highly the club thinks of him and the development in his game in the last few months having moved to Italy.

It remains to be seen whether or not that valuation puts off Madrid and Barcelona, who are seemingly both in the market to bolster their defensive options in the second half of the season.

Luis Enrique’s side have put their defensive woes behind them in recent months to continue on their path towards further silverware this season, while in contrast Rafa Benitez’s men have struggled which in turn has led to speculation about the Spanish tactician’s future at the Bernabeu.

A significant signing in the January transfer window could ease the pressure building at the club, but it is unclear as to whether or not Murillo wishes to leave Inter after such a short time under Mancini’s stewardship.
