[Video] Cristiano Ronaldo smashes Champions League record with four goals against Malmo

Cristiano Ronaldo is the holder of many records, and he’s broken another one against Malmo in the Champions League this past Tuesday night; the record was his in the first place, but he’s absolutely obliterated his old record and there’s still time to do further damage.

The Real Madrid star had previously scored nine goals in one Champions League group stage, more than any other player. He broke his own record with a hat-trick against the Swedish side however, before extending that record with a fourth.

He has now scored 11 goals in this year’s groups stage, and with the form he’s on you wouldn’t bet against him grabbing another goal or two tonight.

Check out his fourth goal below:

The Portuguese striker is still unquestionably one of the world’s best ever players, and he proves it week in, week out in La Liga. The best players want to strut their stuff in the Champions League however, and Ronaldo has done just that.

Malmo may not be the fiercest opposition, but bagging four goals against any team is no mean feat. It’s impossible to see anybody coming close to Ronaldo’s record in the remaining group stage games to be played, so the 29-year-old will keep his record for at least a season – and probably much, much longer.
