Willian Champions League: Stats show how good Chelsea star is, and how bad all of his teammates are

Chelsea winger Willian has been just about the only player keeping the team afloat in the Premier League and the Champions League, and the latest look at the Blues’ top goal scorers serves as further proof of how good he has been – and how awful the rest of the team has played.

According to stats by the Telegraph, Willian’s seven goals this year – including his game-sealing strike against FC Porto in the Champions League – make him the only player on the team to have more goals than “own-goals.” Per the Telegraph, Chelsea have benefited from five own goals this season across all competitions – including one they received early in the first half against Porto in their 2-0 win.

Last year’s top scorers, Diego Costa and Eden Hazard, have been wildly out of form. Costa has scored only three times in 12 Premier League appearances, plus one Champions League goal against lowly Maccabi Tel-Aviv. Hazard has not scored a single goal for Chelsea this season despite appearing in every single Premier League and Champions League fixture.
