Former Liverpool hero Steven Gerrard has named Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey as the best attacking midfielder in the Premier League right now.
The ex-England international was working as a pundit on BT Sport’s Champions League coverage and was impressed by what he was of the Welshman during the 3-0 victory over Greek giants Olympiacos on Wednesday night.
Ramsey laid on he first goal for striker Olivier Giroud, and was picked out by Gerrard as being even more effective than either Mesut Ozil and his former teammate at Liverpool, Philippe Coutinho.

“Mentally I don’t think he’ll be happy himself playing out wide because he hasn’t got the legs. His quality is all in the middle,” Gerrard told Gary Lineker on BT Sport.
“For me, when he’s in that form, he’s the best attacking midfielder in the Premier League.
“You’ve to play your best players where they want to play and I’m sure he’ll want to be in the middle.”
Ramsey himself responded to the comments by saying:
Honoured to hear that from a legend like Gerrard https://t.co/3ZGVNgKD15
