Liverpool have reportedly negotiated a first option deal to sign Birmingham City starlet Demarai Gray, according to Bleacher Report.
Gray in one of the most sought after English youngsters outside of the Premier League, and has previously been linked with moves to the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham and Southampton.
However, it now appears to be The Reds who have moved first by agreeing a first option deal with Birmingham when he decides to move on.
That means Liverpool can snap the 19-year-old up before anybody else, even if he agrees terms with another club elsewhere.
Gray has been on of the shining stars for Gary Rowett’s men this term, bagging one goal in 21 appearances across all competitions, and is being highly lauded as another Nathan Redmond, who also came through the same youth system.
It is only thought to be a matter of time before he steps up to the Premier League, and with this deal it could be with Liverpool in the near future.
