Man City vs Swansea preview: Managerless Swans given boost with no Aguero or Kompany

Posted by

Swansea prepare for life without Garry Monk with one of the toughest trips on the calendar and will head to The Etihad with caretaker manager Alan Curtis leading the charge.

However, City will be without influential duo Sergio Aguero and Vincent Kompany, who are both still sidelined with respective injury concerns.

This will come as a blow to Manuel Pellegrini, who has seen his side slump down to a 43% win percentage without the Belgian skipper, coming down from 75%.

The Swans aren’t without their injury problems wither, though, and will be missing French midfielder Frank Tabanou, who is left behind as he nurses a thigh injury.

“I don’t think the problem with Swansea was the manager – Monk had a very good season with Swansea last season,” Pellegrini said.

“They’re in a bad moment but it’s not down to one person – in football, you’re never surprised about anything but I’m sure he’s the same good manager he was last year.”
