Chelsea have not come close to getting the expected level of production out of superstars Diego Costa and Eden Hazard, and its cost the team dearly. Luckily, there scoring woes could take a turn for the better in the upcoming transfer window should they manage to land Shakhtar Donetsk scoring machine Alex Teixeira.
According to the Metro, Teixeira confirmed that he has been in talks about a possible transfer and even mentioned Chelsea by name in a recent interview. Teixeira has scored 22 goals in 15 league competitions for the Ukranian giants, plus another three in the Champions League – including a brace against Real Madrid.
“I know there is interest from Chelsea and there have been some talks, but at the moment nothing is concrete,” Teixeira said.
“Now I just want to go on vacation in Brazil then I will see what the future holds.”
Eden Hazard has yet to score for Chelsea in any competitions this year after winning the Premier League Player of the Season award last year en route to Premier League and League Cup titles. He has been linked with a possible transfer to European powerhouses.
Diego Costa has just three Premier League goals after finishing in the top five in scoring last season. He has also been linked to a possible transfer, with La Liga destinations coming up frequently.
