Arsenal injury news: Wenger confirms Alexis Sanchez will return to training on Monday

Alexis Sanchez has given Arsenal a huge injury boost after Arsene Wenger confirmed that he will return to full-time training on Monday after recovering from a hamstring problem, the Metro reports.

Having limped out of Arsenal’s meeting with Norwich just two weeks ago, the Chilean international had been rated ‘touch-and-go’ for the crucial Premier League showdown with fellow title contenders Manchester City on December 21st (via Metro).

However, The Gunners will get a huge boost ahead of the game after Wenger confirmed that Sanchez would be reporting for full training a 9:30am on Monday morning as he moves quickly towards full fitness.

“He is back on Sunday, he trains on Monday morning at 9.30am,” Wenger explained.

“He is running already… I sent him back to Chile, where he has been running with the physio of the national team, and we will see what kind of state he is in next week.

“He may be a bit short for City, certainly, but with Alexis you never know.”

City are also sweating on the fitness of their own South American game changer, Sergio Aguero, who is still fighting to overcome fitness concerns of his own.
