Chelsea are thought to be heading a list of eight Premier League clubs all vying for the signature of talented Angers midfield star Cheikh N’Doye, according to French publication L’Equipe.
The 29-year-old has played a massive part in the French side’s ascent up the Ligue 1 table this term that has seen them in second behind only big spenders Paris Saint Germain.
Having chalked up five goals and one assist so far this term, the Senegalese international has now garnered some serious interest from the Premier League, including both Chelsea and fellow title contenders Manchester City.
The Blues in particular are taking an interest as they have struggled to find any kind of form in the Premier League so far this term, and sit in the lower reaches of the table with just 15 points from 15 games.
N’Doye is currently under contract with Angers until 2017, and the club are hoping to extend his stay beyond that, but they are fully aware that there are several top Premier League sides in the market for an in-form defensive midfielder and have the cash to do it.
N’Doye can also feature at centre-back, and only joined Angers this summer from Ligue 2 side US Creteil-Lusitanos.
