Jamie Vardy’s Premier League record for goals in successive games may not last long.

Romelu Lukaku is coming for the Leicester City striker. This header from a delightful Gerard Deulofeu cross against Norwich City today was the Everton’s goal machine’s sixth in six top-flight outings.

Vardy recently made history by bagging in 11 Premier League games in a row, breaking the record held by Manchester United legend Ruud van Nistelrooy. His streak ended at Swansea City last weekend.

And it may come under threat in the coming weeks because Lukaku is in unstoppable form. The Belgian powerhouse now has 15 goals for the season in all competitions, including 10 in his last 10 outings.

Everton’s upcoming fixtures suggest that Lukaku’s run could well continue. Neither Leicester nor Newcastle United have the best defensive records, and Stoke City are more open than they once were.

The worry for the Toffees may be that Lukaku is almost playing too well, and is bound to attract attention from bigger clubs. The Telegraph have linked him with a move to Manchester United.
