Rumours linking Jose Mourinho with a move to Paris Saint-Germain have been lent weight after Laurent Blanc’s agent has admitted that his client’s future remains up in the air.

PSG were recently reported to have opened contract talks with World Cup winner Blanc, but as yet, no deal has been struck, leading to continued speculation about the coach’s future.

Blanc, nicknamed Le President, has enjoyed great success at PSG, winning two Ligue 1 titles, the French Cup and the French League Cup. His side look on course to win another French title this season, having amassed a considerable points lead over their title rivals.

However, doubts remain over Blanc, with some questioning whether he boasts the character to manage the various high-profile characters at the Parc des Princes.

“He’s at the end of his contract,” Bernes admitted, “and therefore the door is open to many things, although it’s important to remember that Paris is a club that he loves.

“We’re not too far away (to an agreement),” he continued, “but we need (more) discussions, negotiations…it takes a bit of time.”
