Video: Jordan Henderson goal – Liverpool captain opens scoring against West Brom with first effort of the season

Liverpool star midfielder Jordan Henderson was sorely missed for several months due to an injury he suffered early in the season and has made only a handful of appearances all season.

However, the FIFA 16 cover man made his big return to Anfield in style, netting a goal in the first half to give the Reds an early 1-0 lead.

Philippe Coutinho beautifully executed a long shot that Adam Lallana reeled in and headed over to the awaiting Henderson, who promptly struck with authority to give the Reds the lead at the 21′ mark.

The goal was Henderson’s first of the 2015-16 campaign in all competitions. He managed an assist against AFC Bournemouth in August, but that would prove to be his last match until November, when he came on as a sub against Swansea City in a 1-0 win.

No doubt Reds fans will be excited about the kind of lineup Jurgen Klopp can put together now that he has a healthy Henderson underpinning the attacking talents of Christian Benteke, Coutinho and James Milner.

The Reds stars may have their work cut out to secure the victory against The Albion, however, with Tony Pulis’s side equalising soon after Henderson’s opener when Craig Dawson equalised from a set piece after Simon Mignolet failed to deal with a corner.
