Liverpool close in on move for Barcelona outcast Cristian Tello

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has apparently made Barcelona outcast Cristian Tello one of his prime targets for the January transfer window, according to Spanish publication El Mundo Deportivo.

Tello is currently in the middle of a two-year loan spell with Portuguese giants FC Porto, but would be available on a permanent deal for a fee of around £9million.

However, Porto are dragging their heels over paying that amount and as yet have made no moves to make the deal permanent, thus leaving the door open for The Reds to steal in and snap him up themselves.

And considering his relatively low fee, the 24-year-old would inject some much needed pace and dribbling ability into Klopp’s side.

Tello has been in good form for Porto so far this term, bagging two goals in 11 appearances in the Portuguese top flight.

Liverpool have been linked with the player on several occasions in the past, and it now looks as though they could finally make it happen in January.
