According to reports, legendary Argentine manager Marcelo Bielsa is already in discussions with Swansea City about taking over from Garry Monk in South Wales.

Popular manager Monk was dismissed last weekend after guiding the Swans to just one victory in his last 11 matches, and despite a promising start to the season, the manager—who had been at the club for the best part of a decade and a half—had taken the Welsh side down to the brink of the relegation zone.

Swansea’s performance improved against Manchester City at the weekend, but, led by interim boss Alan Curtis, the Swans were found wanting and conceded late on to fall to a 2-1 defeat.

The club’s chairman Huw Jenkins is understood to be primed to turn to legend Bielsa and has flown out to South America in order to approach the 60-year-old according to The Sun.

Bielsa is a temperamental but potentially inspirational option for the Swans, although he has a mixed track record with Argentina and Athletic Bilbao.

Potentially appealing for Jenkins may be the relationship Bielsa enjoyed with Andre Ayew-then of Marseille, now of Swansea-last season, getting the best out of the Ghanaian playmaker.

Could he be set to do the same again this term?
