Agent of €8m international wideman confirms Man City transfer target will move in January

The agent of Schalke winger and Manchester City transfer target Sean Kolasinac has confirmed that his client will be leaving the Bundesliga heavyweights in January.

As reported by Goal, the player’s representative Gordon Stipic-Wifpler has revealed that his target will likely leave the Gelsenkirchen outfit in January.

The versatile wideman has been linked with both AS Roma and Manchester City, with Stipic-Wifpler acknowledging the interest of both clubs.

“I think Sead will leave Schalke in January,” the agent began, “but I don’t yet know where he is heading.

“Roma are a fantastic club, while there are also some major European football clubs like Manchester City who are watching the boy.”

The agent went on to admit that he wasn’t yet certain whether the attack-minded left-back would leave on loan or whether he would be moving away from Schalke on a permanent deal.

“I would cost about €8 million,” the representative continued, “but I think it is possible that he could initially move on loan with a buy-out option.”

It’s easy to imagine the 22-year-old heading to Roma, who are a side that look to exploit wide areas with pace and incisive movement. However, despite Rudi Garcia’s approach, Gervinho has been injured in recent weeks, while Mohamed Salah has also spent time on the sidelines due to suspension.

22-year-old Kolasinac could also be a long-term successor for Aleksandar Kolarov or Gael Clichy, both of whom are 30.

Despite representing Germany at youth level, Kolasinac has represented Bosnia-Herzegovina as a full international.
