Leading Chelsea scorer now transfer target for Champions League rival

Chelsea winger Willian has surprisingly emerged as the top scoring threat for the team this season. He has two goals in the Premier League (third on the team behind Diego Costa and own goals) and another five goals in the Champions League (tied for fourth in the tournament). His excellent play amidst an otherwise awful year for many of his teammates has drawn serious interest from one of Chelsea’s biggest European rivals.

According to the Metro, Paris Saint-Germain have targeted Willian as a potential replacement for Ezequiel Lavezzi in the event their veteran forward/winger does not stay with the club. Lavezzi has made just four starts for PSG in all competitions this year and has been a transfer target for other European clubs as well.

BuzzSport reported that PSG are hoping to land an expensive megastar like Eden Hazard or even Cristiano Ronaldo but are bracing for the chance that won’t happen.

Willian is Chelsea’s leading scorer in all competitions this year with seven total goals – his highest since his 2012-13 season with Shakhtar Donetsk.
