Manchester United winger Ashley Young has been left dumbfounded by Louis van Gaal’s recent decision to leave him out of the squad recently, according to The Sun.
The 30-year-old had been praised for apparently reinventing himself under the Dutchman for playing in numerous positions on the left hand side recently, but has since been relegated to the bench for each of the side’s previous three matches.
Young last started a game during the 1-1 draw with Leicester on November 28th, but has since received no explanation from the manager as to why he has been left out.
He has been unused in each of the past three games, with van Gaal even bringing in the likes of Nick Powell and Cameron Borthwick-Jackson into the squad ahead of him.
The former England man had sustained a minor hamstring problem last week, but had been had quickly been passed fit by United’s medical team.
