Liverpool & Tottenham transfer target issues ‘come and get me’ plea to Euro giants

LOSC Lille forward Sofiane Boufal has confirmed that he is interested by the prospect of joining Paris Saint-Germain.

On one hand, the news could come as some encouragement for Liverpool [France Football] and Tottenham [France Football via Le 10 Sport], both of whom have been linked in the player, with Boufal admitting he’s open to a switch away from the Stade Pierre Mauroy.

However, by the same token, neither Liverpool nor Tottenham could offer the Morocco international Champions League football—while PSG (another team linked to Boufal, as per the Parisien) could—and the reigning French champions may be able to outbid either side in the transfer market.

Considering Boufal’s recent quotes, speaking to Telefoot on Sunday, as per Le 10 Sport, the unpredictable attacker certainly appears open to a switch away from Northern France.

“PSG is a club that makes you dream,” the 24-year-old began, “it’s the only French club that could currently win a European trophy at the moment. The project at the club is magnificent.

“They are in the top three or four European clubs. There’s this objective to attract the great players, but also the promising players. Of course, it’s a project that interests me.”

Despite Lille’s struggles, Boufal has shone this season.

He has contributed one assist and scored five goals for LOSC under Herve Renard and, latterly, Frederic Antonetti, and has impressed with his movement, explosive pace and terrific technique in offensive areas.

Most notable has been his dribbling, with the 22-year-old leading the division’s scoring charts with an average of 4.1 dribbles per match.

He possesses the directness and the unpredictability to make a major difference at either Spurs or Liverpool.
