Pellegrini bizarrely admits he wants Guardiola at Manchester City

Manchester City coach Manuel Pellegrini has revealed that he hopes Pep Guardiola works at the Etihad Stadium one day.

The Spanish coach confirmed over the weekend that he would be leaving Bayern Munich at the end of the season when his contract comes to an end, with the Bavarian giants and reigning German champions unveiling Carlo Ancelotti as his successor next summer.

Guardiola is set to be one of the most in-demand free agents in world football in 2016, and he is set to have no shortage of high-profile admirers.

Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea have all been linked to the coach, while Manchester City has also been mooted as a potential destination for the iconic manager [Independent].

Naturally, the rumours linking Guardiola with Eastlands could concern City’s current incumbent Pellegrini, who has not always convinced since coming to England, despite winning the Premier League in his first season in charge.

However, as reported by Le 10 Sport, Pellegrini has admitted that he hopes Pep does come to City one day.

“It’s impossible to not want to work [in the Premier League],” Pellegrini began. “I am sure that Pep Guardiola will work here one day.

“I even hope that he has the opportunity to work at Manchester City, because I love this club and I’m worried about its future.”
