Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has been absolutely sensational for the the Gunners this year. He may not get all of the goals, but he’s had a big hand in most of them this year and his production is a huge reason why the team is neck-and-neck with Leicester City atop the Premier League table. OptaJoe found the stats on Ozil’s assist wizardry compared to the rest of the league and revealed that the Arsenal star has more assists than two major clubs combined.

Shockingly, Ozil has more assists than the entire Chelsea and Man United teams combined. And OptaJoe’s stats did not even include the additional two assists he had in Arsenal’s 2-1 win over Manchester City on Monday night.
Ozil is far and away the leader in assists in the five major football leagues – ahead of PSG midfielder Angel Di Maria by a wide margin – and he’s a big reason Arsenal have stayed successful even amidst a litany of injuries to star players.
