Although many Manchester United fans are probably hoping that Jose Mourinho will come riding in on a white horse to save their season and bring them back to the Champions League, there don’t appear to be any major indications that such a move will happen soon.
According to 101greatgoals.com, Mourinho’s agent Jorge Mendes has denied that any talks between his client and the Red Devils have taken place. Mendes rejected the claims that Mourinho had agreed to any kind of deal with Man United, nor was there any proposal being offered in the first place.
“There is nothing,” Mendes told Globoesporte. We do not know what will happen in the future, for now there is no agreement, no official proposal. This is not true.”
Mourinho was fired from his position as Chelsea manager after getting just 15 points in the first 16 matches – the worst start to a title defense in Premier League history.
Man United, meanwhile, have lost three straight in the Champions League and Premier League under Louis van Gaal, dropping into the Europa League and to fifth place on the table respectively in the process.
