Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel has taken to social media site Instagram to confirm that he will be sidelined with injury for the next six weeks.

If the club’s 3-0 defeat to Watford wasn’t bad enough, the Slovakian international has given manager Jurgen Klopp a further headache by confirming that he will be missing for the next six week and likely won’t return until February.

Skrtel came off just four minutes before half time at Vicarage Road on Sunday, and he has now spoken out amid rumours of a hamstring injury that could rule him out for three months.

And though the extent of the damage isn’t as bad as that, he has confirmed that he will be out for six week with a lengthy post on Instagram.

He said: “After all rumours going around,i want to say the time i will spent on sideline wont be 3 months…after i suffered tear in my hamstring and tendon i will be out for 6 weeks…i will work hard on my recovery and will do everything to come back as soon as possible and even stronger than before!thanks for your support!#m37s #ynwa #liverpoolfc #slovakia #collymore#2yearsoldbaby#legend#keeptalking#whatdoesntkillyoumakesyoustronger#plusjedenden????#novycas????”
