(Video) Tom Carroll’s first Premier League goal wraps up easy Spurs win over Norwich

Just over two weeks after scoring his first senior goal for Tottenham Hotspur in a 4-1 win over Monaco, homegrown midfielder Tom Carroll opened his account in the Premier League to finish off a 3-0 victory over Norwich City on Boxing Day.

Brought on as a substitute for Christian Eriksen on 73 minutes, Carroll wasted little time in throwing himself forward.

His attacking intent was rewarded within seven minutes of his introduction as he fired home from long range with his left foot.

Tottenham’s second win in eight days sees them strengthen their grasp on fourth place.

Spurs are now three points clear of Manchester United, after the Red Devils lost at Stoke City earlier in the day, and 13 ahead of Chelsea, who drew 2-2 with Watford.

Monday sees Spurs travel to Watford, where Liverpool lost 3-0 last weekend.

Liverpool responded well to that shocking defeat today though, by beating leaders Leicester City 1-0 at Anfield.
