Liverpool to rival Manchester United for striking wonderkid

Liverpool have become the latest team to throw their hat into the ring to sign Fulham‘s striking wonderkid Moussa Dembele.

According to The Sun, Jurgen Klopp is keen to bring the 19-year-old to Anfield, and will look to put pressure on Fulham to sell the player during the season.

Dembele’s contract comes to an end during the summer, and so January represents the last chance the Cottagers will have to cash in on the talented teenager, who has scored nine goals and contributed two assists in 22 Championship outings to date.

Having demonstrated such consistency at such a young age, it’s tantalising to imagine just what Dembele could achieve in the game as he matures and refines his trade.

His promise has prompted various clubs to take a look at the Frenchman, with the Standard reporting earlier this month that both Tottenham Hotspur and Serie A heavyweights Napoli are keen on signing the lightning attacker.

However, the tabloid also note that Manchester United are monitoring the forward, and the Red Devils, for whom goals have not been easy to come by in the Premier League this season, would appear to have the most pressing need for fresh legs up front.
