Liverpool v Leicester: Five things we learned from Reds victory as Klopp’s boys get back on track.

Liverpool put their recent miserable form behind them on Saturday with a 1-0 victory against league leaders Leicester City, to once again restore faith in the club’s direction under Jurgen Klopp.

The German manager replaced Brendan Rodgers in October, and despite a strong start to life at Anfield, his side have stuttered recently.

Their convincing 6-1 hammering of Southampton was followed by a miserable December, with the Reds losing to Newcastle United and Watford, and playing out draws against Sion in the Europa League and West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League.

The four-game winless run prompted a re-evaluation of the job facing Klopp, but Liverpool went some way to reassuring fans with their fine 1-0 triumph against table-toppers Leicester at Anfield on Saturday.

The match may well be remembered for a series of comic misses by Reds forward at the end of the match, but the three points ought to prove valuable as the Reds climb back up the table, and the win-which came after a sole goal from Christian Benteke-once again proved how the club are going in the right direction under the German coach.

It was a reaffirmation of their qualities and a reminder of the promise that exists at Anfield these days.

In response to the win over Leicester, Liverpool fan blog Empire of the Kop have presented five key talking points from the Reds’ triumph over the Foxes.
